177 km/h, that's the speed that one motorist was travelling on a 100 km/h route in Cavan over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Enforcement Operation for the October Bank Holiday by Gardai came to an end this morning.
On Sunday alone, 57,568 vehicles were checked by GoSafe which detected 324 motorists travelling in excess of the speed limits across the country. Gardai are reminding motorists to slow down or face a hefty fine and penalty points for speeding or the cause of a collision.
