The number of people in Cavan and Monaghan receiving the PUP has fallen by over 750 in the past week.
For the first time this year, fewer than 300,000 people across Ireland are getting the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
There was a nationwide drop of 24,000 PUP payments in the past week, with 754 of those in local counties.
Cavan saw the largest drop, with 410 fewer people receiving the payment compared to the start of the month.
It has the highest number of payments locally, at 3,868.
In Monaghan, there was a drop of 344 payments, with a total 3,646 payments made as of yesterday.
With the reopening of hospitality, 5,300 fewer people in the food and beverage industry claimed the PUP this week.
