700 Covid related fines were issued by Gardai in Cavan and Monaghan over the course of the pandemic.
The Policing Authority, released a report in December on the performance of the force during Covid.
This is one of the highest figures in the North West region with only Donegal, at 926 fines and Galway with 1,336, exceeding the two counties.
Over the same period neighbouring county Meath recorded 487, with 693 in Louth, up to November 27th.
Nationally, 23,112 fines have been issued, the majority were issued for leaving home without a reasonable excuse.
