55,000 customers without electricity across Cavan and Monaghan

The ESB have confirmed that 55,000 customers are currently off the electricity grid at present across Cavan and Monaghan.

That number for the region is up on 800,000.

Cavan seems to have much more widespread power outages compared to Monaghan.

As at 3pm today, approx. 55,000 customers are without power. The damage is widespread and extensive across both counties.

All available resources including crews and partner contractors are now deployed where safe to do so, to assess the network and work to safely restore power as quickly as possible in challenging conditions.
