A petition organised by members of the local community of Scotshouse has amassed over 500 signatures in less than 24 hours.
The petition is relation to the opposition to the erection of a mast on Tuesday in the village. Eir workers had attempted to erect a 40ft high telephone mast in the village, 12ft away from a child's bedroom.

Locals prevented the completion of the works and have been protesting ever since.

Speaking to Northern Sound, the locals gathered said they are going to continue the protest and are determined that this mast will not be erected so near their homes.
They added that the mast located where Eir wants it to be erected is unsightly to the closest house and to the proximity of the mast to the 5 listed buildings in that part of the village.
We have reached out to Eir and requested a statement.
