Five people have been arrested on suspicion of pretending to be Gardaí.
It's part of an operation targeting a criminal gang suspected of being involved in burglaries across 15 counties - mainly in the east and midlands.
Those involved in these burglaries would pretend to be gardai to enter homes in rural areas.
They would say they were investigating burglaries in the area and tell their victims they needed to compare cash in their homes - to cash the so called gardai had.
They would then take it away for analysis - in other words stealing it.
Following a ten month investigation - five people have been arrested this morning. The four men and woman - ranging in age from their 30s to 60s - are being held at five seperate stations.
Gardai are reminding people they would never cold call to someone's house and ask to look at their money like this.
