Gerry Gartlan, from Gerry's School of Motoring in Carrrickmacross says a driving test waiting list of less than eight weeks is an achievement given the situation nationally.
He was responding to figures released by the RSA today which indicates that nationally the wait is up to 14 weeks.
There is a seven-week wait for driving tests in Monaghan and a five-week wait in Cavan.
Meanwhile, Gerry has bookings up to the end of May.
But he added, neither he nor his staff are able to cope with the workload that has emerged in recent times.
Gerry also highlighted how qualified testers can't even get into the system because it is so chocked and backlogged.
