43 Ukrainian refugees are to be given temporary accommodation at Cavan Leisure Centre.
Cavan County Council has confirmed that the first people could arrive this weekend.
The move comes on the back of an urgent request from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth for local authorities to provide Emergency Bed Facilities.
The request is being activated immediately, with those fleeing the war expected to take up the temporary beds over the coming days, with 43 spaces being made available in Drumalee.
The swimming pool, gym, and outdoor facilities, including Astro-turf pitch and bowls green, are unaffected and will remain open to the public.
However, Cavan County Council acknowledges the move will cause inconvenience to some users of the leisure centre and thanked the local community for their patience and understanding as every effort is made to provide humanitarian supports.
Separately, the Tourism Minister says up to around 200 thousand beds could be available in holiday homes to accommodate Ukrainian refugees,.
Catherine Martin is calling on anyone with a holiday home to consider making it available.
Over 15 thousand Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland since the start of the war.
