There are currently over 400 Ukrainian children attending schools in Cavan and Monaghan.
The Department of Education has confirmed that as of 31 January, 14,482 Ukrainian pupils have been enrolled in schools across the country.
Out of the figure of almost 14,500 children at school nationally , 9,334 have been accommodated in primary schools while 5,148 pupils have enrolled in post-primary schools.

In Cavan 220 pupils are attending primary schools while 90 are enrolled at post primary schools.
Meanwhile in Monaghan the numbers are much lower than Cavan at 60 pupils in primary schools and 33 attending post primary schools in the county.
Current data indicates an enrolment rate in Ireland of 92% among Ukrainian children aged between 5 and 18.
