40 new social homes have been announced by the Housing Minister, Darragh O'Brien for County Cavan.
33 homes are planned for Kingscourt and 7 in Ballyhaise.
The development at Lisaturrin in Kingscourt will consist of 33 new social homes, a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bed houses.
The construction scheme at Ballyhaise of 7 new social homes will be a mix of 2 and 3 bed houses.
Deputy Brendan Smith said that this will be a welcome development in view of present housing demands in the County of Cavan.
The Cavan Monaghan TD says that Councillor Clifford Kelly has been working closely with Cavan County Council in relation for the need of additional homes in Kingscourt and the new scheme will help to offset housing pressures in that area
Deputy Smith says this is very welcome news for the town of Kingscourt and will be beneficial for the town.
