There are almost 3,600 occupied homes across Cavan and Monaghan that have solar panels installed.
That's according to the CSO, that found the data in a new household question that was asked as part of the 2022 census.
Homes with solar panels in Cavan amounted to 1,816 which was 6% of occupied dwellings in the county. While homes with solar panels amounted to 1,792 in Monaghan which was 8% of occupied dwellings in the Farney county. Nationally, 119,300 or 6% of occupied homes had solar panels fitted when the census was conducted.
