Monaghan Veteran and Vintage Club has surpassed itself for its 35th annual vintage rally, which is happening in Clontibret today.
Focusing on old crafts this year, organisers have invited Tik Tok sensation, Owen Riordan from Cork, who has 3.5 million followers, to come to Monaghan and display his skill in using old woodworking tools to make furniture from seasoned wood.
Similarly, Michael Potterton will display how he makes household items from wood he has recovered from forests floors.
As always there will be vintage cars, tractors and motorcycles, oil engines and commercial vehicles with the featured car this year the Volkswagen Beetle and the featured tractor the Ford 1000 model range that was in production from 1964.
Gates opened at 8am this morning and the event, which raises money for a local cause, will run until approximately 4:30pm. PRO John Doran said the Monaghan event is wroth a visit in more ways than one.
