350 fish are dead after a fish kill incident at a Cavan River.
Inland Fisheries Ireland, the state agency responsible for the protection and conservation of freshwater fish, was alerted to the incident at Killycreaney Bridge on the Dromore River in Cavan on Sunday evening.
Fisheries Officers from the North Western River Basin District immediately attended the scene and have confirmed over 350 brown trout deaths to date.
Water and fish samples were taken from the River for analysis and staff from IFI are on site today to carry out further assessments.
