349 people with Covid-19 were being treated in Irish hospitals last night, with 27 in Cavan.
That's the highest national figure since May.
It comes as 939 new cases were identified yesterday - while there were a further 724 in Northern Ireland.
There were 40 additional cases in Cavan and five additional cases in Monaghan.
Cavan continues to have the highest 14-day incidence rate in the country, at 967.5 per 100,000, while Monaghan has the sixth-highest incidence rate, at 348.6 per 100,000.
The national 14-day incidence rate is now at 309.
The positivity rate in the Republic over the past seven days stands at 6.2 percent - compared with 22 percent in Northern Ireland for those being tested for the disease for the first time.
