34 projects in Cavan and Monaghan have been awarded funding through the Built Heritage Investment Scheme for 2025.
Over 340,000 has been allocated to the local projects under the funding stream. Nationally 650 projects will benefit from the €8.1 million being announced today.
The scheme supports property owners to conserve and enhance our historic buildings and streetscapes, and at the same time preserve and develop traditional building skills. This year's grants will be used to repair, restore, and protect historic structures from modest traditional homes to landmark public buildings.
Examples of projects being funded locally include: €20,000 for Holy Family Church, Ballyoisin, €15,000 for Drum Church of Ireland, Cortubber, €15,000 for Shanco Church, Shanco, Emyvale, €25,000 for the See House, Kilmore and €25,000 for the Former Railway Goods Shed, Cavan Mart.
