Almost 3,000 Monaghan homes, businesses and farms will be able to connect to fibre broadband on National Broadband Ireland network in coming months.
As the biggest investment in rural Ireland since rural electrification, County Monaghan will receive €60M of Government investment under the National Broadband Plan.
Construction works are underway to connect 2,994 homes, farms and businesses in the Carrickmacross deployment area and broadband on NBI's high-speed network is expected to be available between October and December later this year.
Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer of National Broadband Ireland, said he is "delighted" to announce that Monaghan premises in the Carrickmacross area will be able to order high-speed broadband services, which will enable users to experience the life-changing benefits that high-speed broadband provides. He added that "good progress" has also been made in other parts of the county as well and services on the network are already available in areas near Monaghan town, Clones and Emyvale.
