A local Sinn Fein TD has said that 25 people on trolleys in Cavan General Hospital is very concerning.
Deputy Pauline Tully said that lives will be lost locally and nationally due to the overcrowding crisis in hospitals right across the country.
Overcrowding in hospitals reached its highest levels nationally last week since the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation began counting trolleys in 2006.
14 people were waiting on beds this day last week in Cavan General Hospital.
The number waiting on trolleys may have almost halved nationally today compared to last week at 534 but 25 people are waiting on a bed in Cavan.
Cavan Monaghan TD Pauline Tully is calling on the health minister to help levitate the current situation.
