Colm McEneaney from Carrickmacross will be doing 24 hours of Burpees to raise money for Turn2Me, a national mental health charity, from Monday 30th Sept at 6am until 6am on Tuesday 1st Oct.
The fundraiser will be in the name of his friend, Craig Lynch, who was killed in a car collision five years ago.
The fundraiser will take place at Carrick Fitness Centre. Turn2Me has commended Colm for his innovative fundraiser and passion. The family and friends of the late Craig Lynch decided to do a 30 day Craig Lynch for Life Challenge in a bid for everybody to challenge themselves everyday for the month of September.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Colm said he decided to do kinda crazy challenges. The first year saw the fitness coach doing 30 push ups everyday for the month of September and then another year he did 3 marathons in one day. After a lot of research the Carrickmacross man decided to take on 24 hours of Burpees.
He said the more he read about Turn2Me and the work they do for so many especially young teenagers, choosing the charity was a no brainer. Colm said he never done a 24 hour challenge and there is going to be a certain time in his life where he is not going to be able to do these types of challenges. He said at 45 now is time to do it.
The fundraiser will take place from 30th Sept at 6am until 6am on the 1st Oct at Carrick Fitness Centre, Carrickmacross.
