24 people waiting on trolleys at Cavan General Hospital

There are 24 people waiting on a bed at Cavan General Hospital this afternoon.

516 people are waiting on trolleys in hospitals around the country according to INMO. 397 are in emergency departments, while 119 are in wards.

11 are waiting on a bed in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, while 3 are waiting on trolleys at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. Hospital management at Cavan General have issued an escalation notice asking those with non-serious illness to avoid the facility and to instead contact their GP or pharmacy for assistance.

The local hospital says that despite the difficulties, it is still providing full emergency care if it is required.
