23rd July: Not Obeying the Rules of the Road

During Covid-19 restrictions, there was a large drop in the number of cars on the roads of Cavan and Monaghan. During the same time, more people took up walking and cycling as a way to travel or keep fit. With restrictions eased and traffic now busier, all road users have a responsibility to protect themselves and others. Adrian O’Sullivan is the Road Safety Officer with Monaghan County Council and when he joined The Wider View he said there were still recorded incidences of not obeying the rules of the road throughout the Covid-19 restrictions.
