23 people waiting on trolleys at Cavan General Hospital

There are 23 people waiting on a bed at Cavan General Hospital this afternoon.

440 people are waiting on trolleys in hospitals around the country according to INMO. 326 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 114 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

12 are waiting on a bed in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, while 1 are waiting on trolleys at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. Hospital management at Cavan General have issued an escalation notice yesterday asking those with non-serious illness to avoid the facility and to instead contact their GP or pharmacy for assistance. The local hospital says that despite the difficulties, it is still providing full emergency care if it is required.
