Public consultations are taking place over the next two weeks across Co Cavan in respect of the Local Economic Community Plan and the PeacePlus initiative. The LECP will set out the objectives and actions needed to promote Cavan's economic and community development from 2023 to 2027 while PeacePlus enables communities living in the border region to extend the hand of friendship.
Meanwhile, consultations take place on Thursday the 16th and Monday the 20th of February at the Hotel Kilmore, Cavan; Wednesday the 22nd of February at Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff; and at the Cootehill Community Hub on Wednesday next, the 22nd of February.
Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr John Paul Feely, says it's vital for people across the county to come out and have their say. He added that one set of consultations was established in an effort to respect the effort and time of volunteers, whom Cllr Feely said, continue to make the County a great place to live, work, and rear families in.
"Both of these programmes could have involved two separate public consultations but I and other councillors were very anxious that we would respect the people who are volunteers in our communities; those who are giving of their time on top of their work; on top of their family commitments, to make the communities in which they live better.
"We are holding one set of consultation and that gives them the opportunity to attend in person. But if people cannot attend one of the sessions, there are avenues to make views know on Cavan County Council's website," added the Cathaoirleach.
