A local TD has said that 21 people on trolleys in Cavan General Hospital is very concerning.
Deputy Niamh Smyth has been reacting to the high number of people waiting for a bed at Cavan General.
502 people are waiting for a bed in hospitals around the country this morning according to INMO.
369 are in emergency departments, while 133 are in wards.
Overcrowding in hospitals reached its highest levels nationally earlier this year since the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation began counting trolleys in 2006.
Only last week Hospital management at Cavan General issued an escalation warning at the local hospital.
