Minimum Unit Pricing is having a negative impact on off-licenses along the border.
That's according to Sean Maguire of the Yukon Bar in Belturbet.
Sean told the Wider View this afternoon that his customers are constantly reminding him that his prices for wines, beers and spirits are higher than those across the border in Northern Ireland.
He said he was well aware of how expensive alcohol has become in the Republic of Ireland.
But, he added, the situation has been brought about by Government policy and at the moment it has off-license owners over a barrel.
"It's an awful pity that the Government can't do something," continued Sean.
"I'm sure they could it they wanted to because it's not fair on us and it's not fair on the local people here either.
"People that have no transport are sticking around.
"But the ones with cars are definitely traveling across the border."
