A local mother has raised her concerns over school bus services in Cavan ahead of the start of the school year.
Last week, parents were informed that the bus that services 4 schools in Cavan Town from the areas of Ballinagh, Kilcogy, and Ballyheelan has lost 20 concessionary seats. Pauline Clarke who is from Kilnaleck says that these 20 rural children who have lost a seat have been on this bus for a number of years.
Pauline highlighted how she believes that local school children from the area "deserve better". She says this news has come as a massive blow with very little options available to them, pay either €2640 for 2 kids on a private bus or keep them at home. The local mother said at the end of the day it's the children that suffer
