Gardai and the RSA are starting a Road Safety Appeal this morning. 20 people have died on the country's roads so far this year.
This includes 18 people who lost their lives in crashes in January. This is the largest death toll during the month of January since 2013. Gardai and the Road Safety Authority are appealing to all road users to Stay Safe’ this St Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend. Last Year, 156 people died on Irish roads, the largest death toll since 2016. Gardai are asking to all road users to use the roads responsibly, particularly on rural roads, where the majority of road deaths are taking place.
