FRS Farm relief is on the lookout for additional farm workers in Co Monaghan over the coming months to help with the anticipated busy spring ahead.
The farming assistance group has put out a call for up to 20 extra employees across the county. The farm relief employment group says they have found it difficult to get staff over the last 12 to 18 months.
Colin Donnery the group chief executive of FRS Farm Relief says there are challenges to be faced in the industry. He added that farming can be very lonely and isolating, and this impacts upon the health and wellbeing of the farmer.
"From a health and safety persepctive, farms have become much more modern. So, farm relief operators are going into a much more professional setup compared to what they were say 10 or 15 years ago," he added.
