Dr Fiona McGrath has been appointed acting Chief Executive for Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (ETB).
She recently served as Director of Monaghan Institute and played a lead role in its development.
Dr McGrath highlighted her commitment to CMETB and said it would continue providing "quality education and training opportunities" across Cavan and Monaghan.
Meanwhile, Dr McGrath takes over from acting Chief Executive, John Kearney.
He departs CMETB to take up the role as CEO of the National Council for Special Education (NCSE).
“I pledge my commitment to work with the board of CMETB and executive team to continue providing quality education and training opportunities in counties Cavan and Monaghan," Dr McGrath added.
"I aim to build upon the success already delivered by my predecessors and the team at CMETB.
"All of this was in partnership with staff, students and learners in our schools, further education and training centres and administrative offices to continue delivering the best quality service.”
