There are 19 people waiting on trolleys at Cavan General Hospital this morning.
According to figures released on the daily INMO trolley watch database today, all 19 of those on trolleys in the local hospital are in the Emergency Department.
There are currently no patients waiting on trolleys in any other ward in Cavan General. Nationwide, 415 people in total are waiting for beds with 299 of those on trolleys in EDs and the remaining 116 in wards elsewhere in the country's hospitals. The figure of 19 for Cavan is unusually high. On Tuesday, Northern Sound reported 12 people were on trolleys with management describing the situation as "in escalation".
