The Cavan/Monaghan constituency will select five TD's to the new Dáil when all the votes are counted in the upcoming election.

With the General Election date set and the Dáil dissolved on Friday,
General Election 2025 is very much on.

The Cavan/Monaghan constituency will select five TD's to the new Dáil when
all the votes are counted in the upcoming election.

The constituency includes the entire area of both County Cavan and County
Monaghan, taking in areas like Cavan town, Monaghan town, Clones, Cootehill,
Belturbet, Bailieborough, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross. It previously
included parts of North Meath.

Cavan and Monaghan is predominantly rural with 75% of the population living
outside the main towns. Manufacturing, construction and agriculture are the
largest sectors in the region.
