76 people in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region and surrounding area were
registered as homeless in February.
The latest report for the second month of this year released by the
Department of Housing shows that Dublin accounts for 69% of those in
emergency accommodation.
Locally, in the Cavan/Monaghan area there were 16 adults homeless between
the 22nd and 28th of February.
In Roscommon there were 12 people in emergency accommodation over the same
period, with 10 in Longford.
Leitrim is coupled with Donegal in the report and has an overall figure of
38 people registering as homeless.
The national figure is at its lowest point since 2017.
