The Northern Sound region may be hit by winds of between 150 to 180 kilometres per hour during storm Eowyn. Eowyn is expected to make landfall in Ireland in the early hours of Friday morning. Met Éireann has already issued a status orange weather warning for the whole of the country from 2am Friday morning until 5pm that evening.
