A 14-year-old boy has died, and another has been hospitalised with serious injuries after a crash in county Kerry.
It happened in the early hours of this morning.
The crash happened on the Ross Road in Killarney at around 1.10am this morning.
The male driver of the car, a 14-year old boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger, a boy of a similar age has been taken to University Hospital Kerry with serious injuries.
The road remains closed this morning for technical examinations.
Anyone with information to the incident is being asked to contact Gardaí.
Gardaí say the car which crashed had an "interaction" with officers before the incident, and the matter has been referred to GSOC.
