A 12 year old Cavan girl has raised €6,000 for three charities.
Kirsty McCaul from Belturbet swam 15,000 metres in Annagh Lake over a two-week period ending in with a final swim in the Lake at the end of June.
The money, which has surpassed the original target, will be divided between the Down Syndrome Cavan Branch, the Paediatric Unit of Cavan Genera Hospital, and Crumlin Children's Hospital.
Through a post on the GoFundMe Page Kirsty’s mother, Nathalie McCaul, has thanked all those who contributed stating ‘This experience will forever stay in our memories for all the right reasons.’
