111 new social homes to be delivered in Monaghan in 2024

The projected spend will be €30 million countywide.

Monaghan County Council look set to deliver 111 new social homes in across the county this year.

Under the Housing for All program, 42% of that number will be 1 or 2-bedroom homes, 33% will be 3 bedrooms and 25% will be 4 bedrooms homes.

The projected spend will be €30 million countywide and will include bringing on properties on stream in Annyalla, Castleblayney, Carrickmacross, Ballybay and Monaghan Town.

Local Councillor Colm Carthy has welcomed the new homes that will be delivered and highlighted the local authority has over a number of years delivered more than the quota that they are being asked to deliver.

The Carrickmacross Councillor has been ratified at the most recent sitting of Monaghan County Council as the Chairperson of the housing strategic policy committee for the next 5 years. He said it's a roll that he excited about but he says he is looking forward to the further delivery of homes in Monaghan. Cllr Carthy says the 111 homes will delivered across the 3 MD's in the county
