It's hoped the annual Moylagh JFK 50 mile Challenge can pass the 1 million euro mark this year.
The challenge is in its 10th year and has so far raised almost 800,000 euros for cancer services in Ireland.
It sees people run or walk up to 50 miles across Cavan, Westmeath and Meath.
It's hoped that this year's event will be able to take place in person on the 7th of August but people from further afield and abroad will have the option to take part virtually also.
This year's challenge will launch next Sunday (April 4th) with a 5km virtual walk.
