The number of homes, businesses and farms still without power in the Northern Sound region now stands at 10,000.
The figure is down from 12,750 yesterday evening and 55,000 on the day the storm struck almost a week ago last Friday.
ESB said their crews working in Cavan and Monaghan are not only being supported by international crews like those from Austria who arrived to work in Cavan yesterday but, is also being "bolstered" by ESB staff from other parts of the country and even, former staff.
Nationally, 108 thousand premises are still without power across the country with the ESB restoring electricity to 660 customers in recent days.
The utility is also urging anyone who comes across fallen power lines not to touch them and report them so they can be dealt with safely.
