A Monaghan mother is hoping the Taoiseach will discuss the case of her abducted children, when he meets with the Egyptian President in Dublin today.
President Michael D Higgins will meet President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at Áran Uachtaráin today, followed by a working lunch with President el-Sisi and Simon Harris at Farmleigh.
Mandy Kelly, from Monaghan, was on holiday in Cairo in Egypt in 2022 when her husband locked her in an apartment and took her sons.
She has not seen her sons Zayn and Kareem since who are 4 and almost 6 years of age. Ms Kelly said the day before they were due to return home her husband had warned that he was keeping their two young sons, both born in Ireland, Mandy Kelly is hoping today may bring them one step closer to coming home.
