Police in the Lisnaskea area have seized 11 vehicles at what is understood to be a fuel laundering plant. Among the vehicles seized were 10 lorries, a van, 2 trailer units along with hundreds of litres of rebated fuel.
On Monday afternoon police officers carried out patrols in the wider Lisnaskea area when crews observed a lorry baring false registration plates travelling through the town and shortly after stopping in a yard. Following further enquires it was discovered that the vehicle wasn’t insured, was baring false plates, and hadn’t been taxed for 13 years.
The District support team in conjunction with revenue officers and Enniskillen Road Policing Interceptors carried out further enquiries in the yard and located several other lorries using rebated fuel. As a result revenue officers have seized a total of 11 vehicles and enquires are ongoing by them along with police and the driver and vehicle agency.
