Local TD Pauline Tully is calling for more resources to be made available to tackle the growing drug problems in Cavan.
Deputy Tully has tabled a number of Parliamentary Questions to Minister Charlie Flanagan in relation to the escalation and consumption of Class A drugs throughout the county, and wants to see more personnel made available.
She says that resources are not only lacking when it comes to stopping the sale of such drugs but also when it comes to helping addicts and educating parents and children.
One measure in particular that Deputy Tully has called for is trained sniffer dogs to be made available to Guards when carrying out house searches.
