Sean (Pops) McArdle died on Thursday, 8th August 2024, peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family Audri, Louise, Scarlett, Colm & Pat.
Predeceased by his darling wife Siobhán, his parents James and Winifred, brother Patsy and sister Mary Mohan. Sean will be sadly missed by his heart broken daughters; Audri and Louise, his adored granddaughter Scarlett Herron, his devoted sons-in-law; Colm Herron and Pat Markey, his loving sisters; Sr Carmel (Rita) and Winifred Shortt, his brothers; Brian and Laurence McArdle, nephews, nieces, friends, the loving community of Drumbear Nursing Home and friends of Monaghan Veteran & Vintage Club, of which he was founder member. Pops was one of life’s absolute gentlemen. The kindest, sweetest, loveliest, intelligent, gracious man you could ever hope to meet.
Reposing at his daughter Audri Herron’s home, Drumbear House, Drumbear, Monaghan H18 FE44, on Friday (09/08/2024) from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. House private on Saturday morning to family and close friends please. Removal on Saturday (10/08/2024) at 2.30 p.m. arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for 3 pm funeral Mass at 3 p.m. We would love if you wore bright colours, as he loved them. Private Cremation afterwards at 6 p.m. Sean’s ashes will be later interred beside the ashes of his wife Siobhán, in Calvary Graveyard, Monaghan.
