Ballinagh landed the Hotel Kilmore Cavan Intermediate Football Championship beating Butlersbridge by 23 points to 11.
Man of the Match Niall McDermott registered a dozen points including four from play, his tally was the difference between the sides in the end.
Such a convincing victory didn’t look likely at the interval where Ballinagh only led by nine points to eight.
Butlersbridge led by double scores after 23 minutes of play before Ballinagh tagged on five unanswered points before the short whistle.
Scores from Cormac Timoney (two), Kevin Smith, Thomas Smith, and Niall McDermott gave Adrian Maguire’s side a one point buffer at the break.
Ballinagh then registered six points without reply following the restart where Paddy O’Brien and Shane Finnegan were on target and McDermott accounted for the remainder.
Fionntan O’Reilly responded for Butlersbridge in the 42nd minute ending a 21 minute scoring drought and his side were now six points in arrears.
Three successive scores for Ballinagh increased the margin to nine points before O’Reilly responded with another score for Butlersbridge.
A subsequent brace from the Ballinagh men saw them lead by double scores with eight minutes left.
Jonathan Leddy later added another point for Butlersbridge but a pair of scores from Niall McDermott and Shane Finnegan sealed a fourth intermediate title for Ballinagh.
