ABP says no staff will be allowed back on site until their Covid-19 test results are returned.
All employees are currently being tested for the virus as a precaution, after two positive cases were revealed yesterday.
Approximately ten days ago, a positive Covid-19 case was notified to ABP Foods Clones.
Close contacts of the employee were advised to self-isolate, with another staff member testing positive as a result, while in self-isolation.
As a precautionary measure, the company said all staff members at the Monaghan factory would be tested by a private company in conjunction with the HSE.
This morning, a spokesperson said the testing programme began yesterday and will be completed later today - with no staff allowed back on site until their test results are received.
It's understood testing is being carried out on a staggered basis, meaning operations could be reduced - however the company is confidence the Clones factory will remain open.
